I have been working at adding a fresh new look to the Mme Shutterfly Website... which has needed some TLC for quite some time now. As usual, it's been super busy and getting to that task has been a tricky one!!
I'm happy to say it's up and running and I will be tweaking little things here and there to add some creative flare it so deserves!

Fast forward...we both meet our husbands right out of high school, share the excitement of getting engaged, the joys of each others marriages, and somehow in the midst of our busy lives, manage to remain friends & share the trials and tribulations of woman-hood from opposites ends of the world.
We've had children and become great friends, and always cherish our short time together [as we only usually get to see each other but once a year :( ]... and OMG, btw: when on earth did we become all grown up...?!
Nadine my sweets, I do so very much enjoy our chats and catch ups each Summer when you are "home" from wherever in the World your teaching adventures take you! I always enjoy & look forward to the coolest little knick-knacks you bring me from all over the unique places you live or travel all over the world. I live vicariously through you and love how we have so much in common that we always seem to pick right back up where we last left off!
You are one of my dearest friends
I am proud of you, your family, and all that you have become. I know you have so many more exciting accomplishments to surprise me with as you grow and blossom into even more awesome-ness [if that's even possible I'm not quite sure?!].

]]>Growing up each Summer we'd look forward to spending time at Red Bay with our cousins [Matt, Marcus, & Shaughnessy] and their Mom, our only Aunt on my Dad's side [Aunt Irene]. Although, we only usually got to see each other for only a week or so each year, I always enjoyed our time together and found it very hard by the end when we'd have to say our good-byes as we'd become so close by the end of our visits.
My Aunt Irene was always a big fan of my Artistic flare growing up and always encouraged, and even made me promise once [if I remember correctly ;)] to do something constructive and go on to do big things and put my creative talents to work for me... and well, I guess I kept my promise & turns out that I have! And how cool, that I could photograph such a memorable time in her/their lives. Thank you xo
Now, having met Bernard some time ago, I knew there was a little bit of forever about these two.
You can clearly see their chemistry and the love they share for one another.
I am so happy that he is officially part of the family now [although I always felt he has been from the start], and I would like them both to know that I was very honoured to be able to capture their special day! Enjoy.

]]>The hot pics posted from this shoot are ones selected by myself and the model. Although I had MANY gorgeous pics to choose from that I would have LOVED to have shared, I felt that they should remain "in the vault" and only for the eye's of this lovely's husband-to-be!
Dearest Ashleigh has been a follower of mine for literally, MY ENTIRE Photographic Career [yup, 6 whole years!] She continuously comments and likes everything and anything I post, and is the biggest supporter and confidence booster I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She even told me once that she started blogging because of me, and I was completely flattered that little ol' me could have such an impact on someone just by what I type or post on the Internet! I just can't begin to tell you how wonderful this girl has been from standing up in others Weddings, to her very own shoots, and now one of my Bride's, as she prepares for HER WEDDING, which I am thrilled to shoot come the end of the month!

]]>I feel like life on the computer has taken a serious back seat [other than editing images that is].
I NEED TO BLOG something fierce...so much to share-- Eeeeeeeeeeeek!!
I have a pile up of shoots from this year to post it is simply = CRAZY!!
Now, as most of you may know, we are in the midst of a re-build to our 125yr old home. We tore down 1/2 of the old home and are in the process of bringing our vision & design to life!
Although we are quite thrilled to be taking on this major project, it has brought forth some interesting challenges with both our family & work routine!!
10 weeks at the Cottage without Internet was interesting for sure... traveling 45 mins to & from work in 2 separate vehicle proved to be pricey and very tiring.
We were thankful however to have a place to call "home" during that time, as the construction reached the point where our washroom was somewhat complete enough, and we could return home.
During week 10-11, we camped with the family in town, the weather was perfect but it just didn't quite cut it, we were anxious and running out of steam & certainly ready to get back into our house!
Week 12 and we were in... now to drywall, paint, side the house, put in flooring and add all the fun decorative details to pull it all together-- all while living in the construction zone!! Should be FUN times for sure!!!! LOL
Summer is a busy one for us, next week I'll do my best to post images from the build, Photos fur Friends [which was a tremendous success-- Jolie raised over $650 for the surgical fund at the OSAS--YAY!], & all kinds of shoots from babies to Weddings!!

I began the MelissaCranniePhotography experience in the Summer of 2006 {I shot my Best-friends Wedding and things sort of "snowballed" from there...}
Word of mouth spread quickly for me and thankfully many appreciated my self-taught flare for Photography.
...6 yrs later and 75+ Weddings plus numerous Engagement, Family, Pregnancy, Children, & even birth shots later... I continue to grow and expand both my knowledge & clientele!
I love my job.
I love the people.
I love the experience.
I love the art of capturing people's "real-life" moments through my creativity!

to raise money for the Owen Sound Animal Shelter!!
This very talented 5yr old Photographer, will be photographing pets in the Park. Your minimum $5 donation will go towards a 5x7 print, with proceeds going towards the Shelter.

]]>Mitchell taught me so much and had a huge impact on my life. Currently, I have the privilege of seeing him each day as I drop off/ pick up my little Jolie [they attend the same school].
Although he cannot speak the words, I feel he remembers me, as he greets me each time with a smile that brightens my day and warms my heart!

On the eve of the family's departure to Australia, I was able to connect with Tobey & his parents.
I was pleased to have been worked into what was probably a very hectic time for them, preparing for their big move & family adventure to Sally's [Tobey's Mom] homeland and all!
The 3 were very welcoming, and Tobey was a true natural... even though the little man had been to the Doctor earlier that day for his needles, he was such a charmer & he totally rocked it! ...Mom & Dad both did a great job too!
I'm excited for your entire shoot to arrive to you all... there were some very lovely intimate shots with Toby & Mom that were just too precious to post, some of my faves in fact... hopefully special one's you'll truely cherish Sally!

He's got the smile & charm down, and has since day one! But man, he makes Mama work for it-- HE IS SO QUICK!
Not wanting to stay still for any more than a split second, I tried to keep up! All the while I here him smiling the word: "Cheeeeeeese" [which yes indeed, was his very first word-- and quite fitting I must add] he grabs a toy [any toy] puts it to his eye and utters that famous old phrase... SO DARN CUTE! Perhaps he will be the next to take up Photography, along side his Mama & Big Sis...perhaps a venture in the making one day ;)

]]>One 12 degree afternoon [yes, Celsius- for some of my unfamiliar followers :) ], Ms. Jolie Bean Shutterbug and I, set out with our cameras to take in some sights and make the most out of the stranger than ever high Winter temp!
Our shoot was cut quite short that day [at our 1st stop] as both Jolie & I forgot it was dance night!! With 15 mins till dance, and minimal pictures taken, we quickly rushed home--- and made it just in time for class to start!! Phew...
Until our next Spring like day [looking like next week is double digits again] and out to shoot some more L'il Bean!!

]]>Since passing down my 1st DSLR, my daughter Jolie has picked it up and started playing around with it quite intensively. She's acquired some lenses, a bag, and working on developing her very own style, as well as some basic editing skills on the computer.
She loves taking photos and we've found a common interest we can share and learn together.
...I have to admit, it's nice that I will now be included in some of our fam photos, I missed that looking back on all the baby photos of Jolie, as I'm the one behind the lens 99.9% of the time!
From time to time I will post some pics from her collection and share those funny Jolie catch phrases and stories you've all come to love and miss seeing as Status updates on facebook!
It's fun and she's really super interested in this little new found passion of hers. I think it's pretty awesome and can't wait to share all that she's been working on!

And that’s just what we did… The 3 of us set out one FREEZING fall morning, along with the children as spectator/moral support [that’s right, this HOT mama just gave birth months before this shoot—WOWZA HOTNESS!!].
Rori, a SUPER MAMA, & Jeremy the supportive hubby, didn’t even hesitate to jump right in as though it were a balmy 30 degrees celcius. Teeth a chattering and nose a runnin’ I started quickly snapping away…
Our Post-Wedding session was quick and productive. The Bride & Groom did exceptionally well and even though they were frozen solid by the end, the 2 very much in love, let on like it was just another day in paradise!

]]>So, when I see families year after year, I look forward to seeing them and how they’ve grown and changed since our last shoot. This is the case with the Camarneira Family. Last year when we did their Family shoot, Josh was just wee… not even walking yet! When we got together this year, he looked like a little man, walking, talking and growing right before our eyes. Along with older sister Emma, [also growing into a lovely young girl] the two made our session a super entertaining one!

]]>This made me think of that game "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term here goes:
Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon and rests on the assumption that any individual involved in the Hollywood California film industry can be linked through his or her film roles to actor Kevin Bacon within 6 steps. The name of the game is a play on the "six degrees of seperation" concept. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any individual to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible.
I'm pretty sure this is one of my hottest shoots to date... I mean come on, look at them-- total hotties, with fab chemistry, complete ease, in a perfect setting!

This year seems different already. I remember growing up thinking being in your 20’s meant that you were “grown up” you know, all carefree, hangin’ with your friends, doing whatever you wanted, without a care in the world! I thought being in your 30’s clearly demonstrated that “you had arrived” and were now considered “established” [HA!], being in your 40’s meant you were an “older adult” starting to “wind down” and become “grounded”. And 50’s for me [back then remember] I could only envision “Grandchildren & RV’s”, 60’s was “old”… and well, you get the picture!
It’s funny just how quickly you start to see age in a whole new perspective once you reach your 30’s. Now that I’ve clearly hit my 30’s, I know that I’m “some-what established” but have yet to “arrive!!”
I’ve decided 40’s is the new 30’s in my eyes, and therefore, my 30’s are my new 20’s…so really, I’m just getting started! Sure a youngin’ might look at me and think “she’s arrived”, she’s totally “established” as I’ve been with my husband for 14yrs [married to him for 7 of those], 2 beautiful children, a house made a home, a fulfilling business, and all without the purchase of a LAME-O –YOU’RE OLD NOW-FREAKING MINI-VAN!!! [Ok I did just buy a 7 passenger mini SUV so I'm kind on my way in that dept I guess!! --but it's still not a VAN!! Sorry CJ I still love you and your big bad grocery getter... hahaha], but seriously… life is just beginning at 30 for me—I mean come on, I’m revisiting leg warmers for crying out loud![which quite possibly could be a bad thing seeing as ‘technically’ you're not supposed to revisit fashions you’ve lived through once already. Crap. ...Out with the headbands too I guess!]
I’m excited it’s 2012 and that my New Year’s resolution is still in full swing [YAY me!]… but my “30’s resolution(s)” is this:
· ‘let the things go that I cannot change’
· ‘rid my life & distance myself of “all things garbage”’
· ‘enjoy the simple things’
· ‘learn to relax a little’
· ‘just be me’
…I’m in my 30’s gosh darn it, and I’m loving it…the best is yet to come!
